The Village of Maple Bluff is facing financial difficulties due to state levy limits and inflation, which have caused expenses to surpass property tax revenues. This has led to reliance on the reserve fund and staff shortages as nearby employers offer better compensation. Currently, the Village employs 20 full-time staff across various departments.

To address these challenges, the Village Board of Trustees is considering a property tax levy increase, which will be on the November 2024 ballot. Residents are asked to review the Referendum Options Report and complete the Property Tax Referendum Survey, either online or using the paper survey mailed to all registered voters, prior to July 28, 2024, at 11:59 PM.
