Our commitment to accessibility

The Village of Maple Bluff is committed to ensuring that villageofmaplebluff.com is accessible to all residents and visitors, including people with disabilities. We want everyone to be able to find information about Village services, meetings, events, and how to contact us.

Conformance status

We are working to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II for state and local government websites. This website is currently partially conformant, which means some content may not yet fully meet the standard. We are actively testing and improving.

What we have done

  • Corrected text color contrast so information is easier to read.
  • Added clear, descriptive names to event and image links so screen-reader users know where each link goes.
  • Confirmed the site has proper page structure, a “skip to content” link, and language settings for assistive technology.
  • Removed a third-party accessibility plug-in widget in favor of building accessibility into the website itself.

Known limitations

Some limitations may remain while we complete manual testing with keyboard-only navigation and screen readers. If you find a barrier that is not listed here, please tell us so we can fix it.

Feedback and how to request information

If you have trouble accessing any part of this website, or if you need Village information in a different format, please contact us:

We will do our best to respond and provide the information you need in an accessible way.

Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on June 18, 2026. The website was evaluated using automated testing tools and manual self-assessment. Manual assistive-technology testing is in progress, and this statement will be updated as that work is completed.
