Our beloved Fest on the 4th returns in all its glory! We are thrilled to bring back all of our treasured traditions on Monday, July 4th, 2022.

7:30 am 5K run — Beach Park:
  • No pre-registration required. Registration 6:45 am-7:15 am Registration Form
  • $20.00 registration includes a t-shirt (featured below), neighborhood glory, and the feeling of sweat-before-you-fete on the holiday.
  • The 5K route will begin at Beach Park, with a Kids-only 100 yard dash, and then the full 5K for all the other runners. The route circles lower bluff, then climbs the dreaded Lakewood Hill to upper bluff, and descends down Farwell back to Beach Park.
  • This is not a sanctioned race, and all runners will self time by recording their finishing time as they cross the finish line. Unfortunately if you’re looking to qualify for the Boston Marathon, look elsewhere.
  • Water and refreshments will be provided to runners after the race.
    • Please bring your own water bottle to reduce waste
  • Winners will be announced at the festival after the parade, and shall be permitted bragging rights for the next 364 days.
10:00 am Fest on the 4th Parade:
    • This year, we’ll celebrate America’s greatest hits by choosing floats and costumes that commemorate our favorite patriotic pop songs!

    • Line up 9:00 am – 9:30 am on Fisk Place ( enter Fisk Pl. from Kensington Dr. Floats should be pointing toward Beach Park).
  • Prizes will be awarded for best motorized float, non-motorized float, group float, most patriotic pet, and youngest parade marcher!
  • The parade starts at Beach Park and travels along Lakewood Blvd. to Johnson Park, where everyone will disembark and start the party.
10:30 am Fest on the 4th — Johnson Park:
  • Our beloved Maple Bluff Fire Rescue Association will cook delicious burgers, brats and dogs as well as offer refreshing sodas, water, and beer (bring cash)
  • Fire Chief Loy will emcee the festival and lead all villagers in fun races, tug of war, and a watermelon eating contest.
  • Fun games and activities for kids including a strolling magician, cotton candy/snow cones, and a bounce house.
  • Festival concludes at approximately 1:00 pm.
  • Volunteers are still needed to help set up, operate, and tear down the event. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040b4badae2dab9-fest
1:00 pm Upper Bluff vs. Lower Bluff Softball Game — Johnson Park:
  • One of our favorite traditions is the upper bluff/lower bluff softball game.

  • Please stay to watch and cheer  on our players.
  • All softball players will be provided rehydration fluids including beer and water.
Fireworks Canceled (updated July 3, 2022 4:30pm)

Village Residents,

After consulting with the National Weather Service, several Village Board Members, and our fireworks vendor, Village Staff has decided to cancel the evening events and fireworks show planned for July 4th, 2022. Weather models predict a high probability of heavy rain and thunderstorms during the same time as our scheduled event. The fireworks will be rescheduled for a later date. To be determined.

The morning and midday events (K5, parade, festival, softball game) will proceed as scheduled. There is a chance of showers forecast for later in the morning so please stay weather aware, and be ready for changing conditions. We will make every effort to safely hold as many events as we can.
